NASA is playing down problems with an overheating battery on the descent capsule of the Genesis spacecraft, which is due to return solar wind particles to Earth in 2004. The agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory says that the problem centres on a faulty radiator but "will not impact the sample collection or the length of the mission". The laboratory does not say, however, that the re-entry and landing portion of the capsule's flight back to Earth will definitely be unaffected.
