The first gold and jewellery company ever to exhibit at Farnborough opened with a regal flourish with the Duke of Kent unveiling a new model aircraft in the prestigious reception area of the President's Chalet.
The London Goldsmiths Company was formed last year the company and since then has established itself as a supplier of scale models and trophies made from precious metals, as well as a wide range of corporate promotional items and gifts.
Success
Its stand at the Dubai airshow last November proved a huge success for the company's founders, Timothy Jarvis and Christopher Gough, both formerly senior executives with Garrard, the Crown Jewellers.
Dignitaries from Dubai and the Gulf states showed great interest in the various products on display, and both Prince Charles and Baroness Symons, the Defence Secretary, visted its stand.
Since then the company has won several prestigious contracts in the region, not least of which was a trophy for the Dubai World Cup, the richest horse race in the world.
Contracts
On the home front, the company has won contracts to produce models for Boeing and BAE Systems, models of aircraft and tanks for various major defence contractors, and also replica Rugby World Cup trophies.
Further success seems certain for the London Goldsmith Company, its principals crediting the quality of its products and competitive pricing. "We have made this type of product affordable to people and organisations that before may have found the prices prohibitive," says Jarvis. "We also believe that our innovative designs and sources of supply for our range of corporate presentation items is second to none."
