A Titan II booster has suffered damaged turbopump seals following a year-long wait on its Vandenberg, California, launch pad. The booster has been waiting to launch a US Air Force Defense Meteorological Satellite Program F16 spacecraft.
The Titan II arrived in October 2000 for the $430 million launch in January 2001. The launch has been postponed three times due to various problems. The seals will have to be replaced, delaying the flight to no earlier than 20 December.
