United Technologies' Hamilton Standard has developed a digital rocket-engine controller (DEREC) for the Pratt & Whitney RL-10E-1 cryogenic engines of the Centaur upper stage used on the Atlas launcher, as part of a US Air Force Atlas reliability-enhancement programme.
