Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala is in advanced discussions with three OEMs to develop a regional centre of excellence for military aircraft sustainment. Mubadala has invited Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Thales to discuss participation in a joint venture company to deliver technical services and outsourced MRO to the UAE armed forces and other air forces in the region. Last week Mubadala launched Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, the former Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (GAMCO), which has been repositioned to expand its current capabilities.
