Middle Eastern budget operator Flydubai has put its first 737 Max jet on display to mark the fifth time it has attended its hometown's air show.
The Max 8 (registered A6-MAX) is the first to be delivered from an order disclosed during the 2013 edition of the event.
"We made history by placing the largest order for this aircraft type in the Middle East," recalls Flydubai chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. "This was made before this aircraft took its first commercial flight. To see that commitment being fulfilled today is another milestone in Dubai's aviation success story."

Flydubai's Max 8 fleet is to reach six by year-end and another 70 are on firm order for delivery through 2023. Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the low-cost carrier holds options on a further 25 of the aircraft.
Chief executive Ghaith Al Ghaith expects the jets to "improve our overall fleet performance, bring more flexibility and efficiency to our operations, and further support our commitment to opening up new destinations, whilst delivering an exceptional onboard experience".
Flydubai says the Max 8s will be deployed initially to the further points in its network – including Bangkok, Ekaterinburg, Prague and Zanzibar – and subsequently on "most of the routes" operated by the airline.
