SITA has secured a three-year, $5 million deal from Virgin Atlantic Airways for the design, development and implementation of an internet protocol- based global network infrastructure. SITA's Intranet Connect will link Virgin staff at 53 sites in 13 countries, providing high-speed access to all applications and databases. Meanwhile, SITA has joined forces with IBM to offer airlines and airports in the Asia Pacific region information technology and communications solutions. Dragonair has joined airline-led e-commerce marketplace Aeroxchange. The Hong Kong-based carrier has signed an affiliate agreement with the exchange which provides it with access to e-procurement, inventory management, maintenance management and co-operative purchasing services.
