Arab Wings is at EBACE for the second time, and Manal Obeid, head of sales and marketing, believes the opportunity to meet clients justifies the expense: “The key thing about being here is the face to face contact we have with people we usually deal with by email or on the phone,” he says.
Arab Wings has witnessed steady growth since this time last year, with several new aircraft on its books. Today it operates a Gulfstream G450, a Challenger CL-604, Two Hawker 800XP and a King Air B200. The company also owns a Beach 1900D aircraft that is dry leased to a Swiss company operating in Algeria serving oil and gas companies.
Arab Wings is adding several aircraft under management in different locations. It will place a new Challenger CL-605 in Dubai at the end of 2008 and will also take delivery of a managed Lineage 1000 in 2010. The firm has also placed an order for a Global 5000 business jet equipped with Bombardier’s Global Vision, scheduled for delivery in 2011.
At the lighter end of the market, the company is also negotiating a long-term dry lease of a Citation CJ1+ and will take delivery of a Phenom 100 and a Phenom 300 in 2010.
