Very-light jet manufacturer Eclipse Aviation has broken ground on an expansion to its Albuquerque, New Mexico factory to support planned production of four aircraft a day. Scheduled to be complete in June, the expansion will almost double the size of Eclipse’s facilities at Albuquerque International Sunport airport. Three new buildings will include a 4,800m² (52,000ft²) primary assembly centre, which will serve as the hub for Eclipse 500 manufacturing. Production is to begin within the next two months.
