Egyptair is gearing up to shortly launch OnAir's in-flight Wi-Fi service and mobile connectivity - including voice calls - on board its new fleet of Airbus A330-300s.
The carrier will accept delivery of the first of five 301-seat A330s linefit with OnAir connectivity systems during the last week of August.
Panasonic Avionics is understood to be providing the in-flight entertainment platforms on Egyptair's A330s. The manufacturer is not discussing details of the arrangement, however. And Egyptair has not yet publicly announced the deal.
"Business class customers will enjoy comfort of sleep on their lay flat beds, or they will indulge themselves in hundreds of entertainment options with personal entertainment systems screened on the 15.4in LCDs and recharge their personal devices while relaxing in their seats," says Egyptair.
"Further, Egyptair's newest A330-300 economy class seats provide wider and more relaxing seats with personal entertainment systems to enable the customers and their families selecting from the best entertainment programmes. They can also recharge their personal devices in their seats."
Egyptair chairman and CEO Alaa Ashour adds: "We are keen on the continuous development and upgrading of our services. These new services will enable our customers to keep in touch with their businesses, families and friends throughout the flight."
