A red dragon is on hand to greet visitors to the Aerospace Wales Forum, the trade association's first stand at Farnborough International.

In co-operation with the Welsh Assembly Government and the Welsh Development agency, the association is here to promote the country's aerospace talent - in both the industrial and educational sectors - to the international community.

Represented on the stand (Hall 4, E6) are 10 small and medium enterprises. "We've also set up a 'dating agency' for those companies that don't have their own booth," adds project manager Paul Lindsay.

"We've put them in contact with international companies interested in doing business and they just come in for those appointments. We can't marry them but at least we can do our bit by introducing them," he says.

Tying aerospace with automation, visitors to the forum also have the opportunity of winning a VIP weekend at the Wales Rally GB in September 2004. The dragon was built by Welsh company Fernleigh Design.
