Cessna Aircraft has awarded a contract to Litton's Litef division to supply the Fibre Optic Gyro-based (FOG) LCR-93 Altitude and Heading Reference System for the Excel.
First prototypes have been delivered and have logged approximately 1,000 flying hours on the Excel.
The system incorporates micro-mechanical accelerometers and True Air Speed for long term augmentation and flux value data for heading.
