Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is forecasting a global demand for 6,875 regional jets in the 30- to 120-seat market over the next 20 years.
Over a third of these will be destined for the North American market, according to Embraer's latest commercial aviation market outlook. Almost a quarter will head for the European market, while 14% of the anticipated deliveries will go to China.
Of the 6,875 regional jets forecast for delivery, Embraer expects 2,895 to be delivered between 2010 and 2019. The remaining jets will be delivered between 2020 and 2029.
Embraer predicts that the size of the world fleet of 30- to 120-seat jets will increase to 7,780 aircraft in 2029 from 4,285 in 2009.
