Indonesian carrier Lion Air has firmed up its options with Boeing for 30 additional 737-900ER aircraft, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2010.

Today’s announcement increases Lion Air’s firm orders for the CFM International CFM56-powered 737-900ERs to 60 aircraft; the carrier firmly ordered 30 of the aircraft type in July 2005 and is the launch customer for the variant. The additional 30 were already attributed to an unidentified customer on Boeing’s delivery schedule.

Deliveries of the additional 30 737-900ERs will continue through 2012.

“Maximising the unprecedented economic advantages of the 737-900ER is the key to our future growth as we expand our routes and add new destinations within our growing market,” says Lion Air president Rusdi Kirana.
