Airliner net orders came in at 200 for September where 206 new orders were offset by six cancellations with another eight swaps.
A major order came in from Air Lease Corporation who ordered 54 Boeing 737s. Lufthansa ordered 19 Airbus A320s while Xiamen Airlines placed an order for ten 737s. Cathay Pacific Airways ordered 30 Airbus A350s as well as six Boeing 777s. CASGC swapped five A320s for five A319s. In the regional market, Caribbean Airlines ordered nine ATR72s.
Boeing totalled 114 new orders in September while Airbus received 80. ATR, Embraer and Ruag totalled nine, two and one order respectively.
Narrowbody orders totalled 135 with 97 737s and 38 A320 family aircraft. Widebody orders included 30 A350s, 17 777s and 12 A330s. The turboprop orders were for nine ATR42s, and a single Do 228NG. Two Embraer 190s were also ordered during the month.
Overall, the order backlog for airliners ended September at 7,679, up 102 on the previous month.
