Canada's Cougar Helicopters is equipping its fleet operating offshore in the North Atlantic with Blue Sky Network's SkyRouter tracking and two-way messaging system. Missouri's Air Evac Lifeteam and North Dakota's Med-Trans are two US air-medical operators fitting their helicopters with SkyTrac Systems' Iridium-based flight-following equipment, while Kansas-based EagleMed has installed Sky Connect's Tracker systems on its fixed- and rotary-wing medevac fleet.
US-based Aircell, meanwhile, has teamed with Flight Explorer, a specialist in internet-based real-time flight tracking to introduce an Iridium-based global flight training capability.
Louisiana-based Metro Aviation is equipping its fleet of more than 40 air medical aircraft with OuterLink's flight tracking and messaging system.
