Dubai-based charter company Alexcina has signed a letter of intent with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) at the Bahrain air show that could lead to an order for up to 12 Superjet 100s.

In a statement, SCAC says that a deal for up to 12 SSJs is being negotiated with Alexcina for operation "in the Middle East and other countries". It adds that the twinjets will be delivered to either the company's Alexcina Airways division or "other Alexcina customers".

The delivery schedule will be determined as part of the negotiation process, it adds.

According to Flight Fleets Analyzer, Alexcina does not currently operate any aircraft. However, the company's website states that it has "assigned suitable budget to reserve one Boeing 737 Max" for onward lease, and intends to begin negotiations.
