Flight International editor-in-chief Allan Winn proudly congratulates three of his reporters for winning prizes in the Aerospace Journalist of the Year Awards at the Paris Meridien Hotel on Saturday night.
David Learmount won the best air transport category, Kieran Daly took the best avionics award and Guy Norris was awarded the best technology prize in the Royal Aeronautical Society-sponsored event. Three other Flight International journalists were nominated for awards.
The late Robert Ropelewski, of Aerospace America, won the overall aerospace journalist of the year award and the popular American, who died earlier this year, also earned the best space entry.
Swiss journalist Pierre Condom was presented with the Boeing Decade of Excellence award.
The other winners were: James Donoghue, air show report; Nick Cook and Bill Sweetman, business or finance submission; Bernard Chabbert, general aviation; Bill Carey, business aviation; Nick Cook, aerospace defence; Paul Copping, maintenance; Ray Whitford; propulsion; Perry Bradley, regional aircraft.
Flight Daily News has also become a major award winner, having grabbed two top prizes in the British Communicators in Business awards for its Farnborough editions.
The Daily won the Award of Excellence in the best newspaper competition and was the class winner for best printing.
Judges, made up of leading international journalists and corporate communicators, described Flight Daily News as an "...outstanding publication produced under difficult conditions with fantastic results".
