Inspections conducted on the Israeli air force's fleet of Lockheed Martin F-16I fighters have found formaldehyde contamination in the cockpits of three more aircraft.

The cancer-causing substance was detected during checks of the F-16I late last month by a team of Israeli air force and Lockheed personnel, which is still trying to locate the source of the problem.

Uncontaminated aircraft have been returned to flight, and air crews are being kept under medical scrutiny to check for any physical problems, such as with their respiratory systems.
