Montreal-based business aviation completion supplier GAL Aviation - formerly known as CAF Aviation Consultants - reopened its doors on 11 April after a short period in bankruptcy.
The company specialises in customised woodwork, monuments and concepts for large-cabin aircraft, including the Bombardier Global Express family and the A319-based Airbus Corporate Jet.
CAF declared bankruptcy in December and its assets were later acquired by Guy Lapierre, founder and owner of the GAL Power Group, a company that specialises in electric generators and compressors for the rental market across North America.
Lapierre says the company will grow to 60 "skilled craftsmen" working in an interiors and a technical division in the same 3,700m² (40,000ft²) building previously occupied by CAF.
"The new venture will undertake a number of aviation activities including the development of a manufacturing workshop for corporate aircraft and VIP airliner interiors refurbishment," the company says.
