GKN Aerospace has delivered the first integrated canopy system for the Boeing F-15C Eagle to the US Air Force (USAF). GKN says it delivered the assembly six months ahead of the contract due date.
The integrated canopy brings together the transparency, frame and associated hydraulics into a complete package enabling the original equipment manufacturer to have a single point of contact for the entire activity.
Jim Dauw, chief executive, Special Products Division, GKN Aerospace, says: "This has been a strategically important contract for us as we bring together our established and market-leading businesses in aerostructures and transparencies to offer a comprehensive solution from one single supplier."
