A crash near Tokyo on June 18th, involving a U.S.A.F. C-124 Globemaster carrying troops back to Korea after leave, earned the melancholy distinction of being the worst accident in aviation history; 122 passengers and the crew of seven lost their lives. Suggestions are being made in America that all C-124s should be grounded pending investigation. It is pointed out that 330 men have been killed in five Globemaster accidents in little over two years.
