Gulfstream has acquired its first service centre outside the USA, following its purchase of BBA Aviation's maintenance business at the UK's London Luton airport. BBA will continue to operate the Signature fixed-based operation at the same location.
The move was prompted by the decision by Gulfstream's UK authorised service centre Marshall Aerospace to discontinue service and maintenance of all Gulfstream types. Marshall says: "After a strategic review, we made a business decision to pull out of Gulfstream and Bombardier after-sales support [and completions] and focus on Cessna Citation work".
Gulfstream's Luton facility will service all Gulfstreams as well as Citations, Dassault Falcons and Raytheon Hawker business jets.
