Premier Aviation Services, a Harrods Aviation client, has become the first European customer to sign deposit agreements for three Sikorsky S-76D helicopters.
Harrods Aviation announced position assignment agreements with Sikorsky at EBACE on Tuesday. All three aircraft will be used for VIP and executive transport missions.
Premier plans to operate one helicopter for a large Dublin-based financial institution from Weston airport in Ireland and will manage the second two for VIP clients.
The S76-D features a new Pratt & Whitney PW210 engine to offer higher cruise speed and fuel efficiency than the current S76C+ model.
A next-generation avionics package has been designed for the S76-D by Thales and the new model features an enhanced composite main rotor with dual speed capability, swept blade tip and new generation quiet tail rotor, to increase efficiency and reduce noise.
Harrods Aviation enjoys a long-standing relationship with Sikorsky as an approved maintenance facility and factory-authorised sales representative for the S-92 and S-76 series of VVIP helicopters in the UK and Ireland.
Harrods Aviation’s chief executive Steve Grimes says: “Sikorsky produces the highest quality in helicopters, very much in keeping with our own brand and outlook. We are able to provide the customer with everything they need through a seamless and very proactive partnership."
Harrods Aviation (booth 1350) is the UK's largest fixed-base operation at London's Luton and Stansted airports where it offers full ground handling and operational services, VIP passenger and crew facilities, fuelling and hangarage.
Sister company Air Harrods offers VIP helicopter charter and helicopter management services.
