The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has ordered two additional Airbus Helicopters H225s, which will serve in the search and rescue (SAR) and emergency medical services (EMS) roles.

“The H225M has proven to be an indispensable asset to our operations over the past decade, delivering exceptional performance and reliability across diverse and challenging missions,” says RTAF Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul.

“The addition of these two new helicopters, specifically designated for SAR and EMS, will further strengthen our ability to protect and serve the people of Thailand, ensuring we can respond effectively to emergencies wherever they may arise.”

Airbus says that completion work for the two helicopters will be handled locally by Thai Aviation Industries. It has not provided a delivery timeframe for the rotorcraft, nor disclosed the value of the deal.

Cirium, an aviation analytics company, indicates that the RTAF operates 18 rotorcraft from Airbus Helicopters, comprising 12 H225Ms and six H135s, out of a total 46 rotorcraft.

Other assets include 12 Bell UH-1Hs, six Bell 412s, five Sikorsky S-70Is, and five S-92As.
