Greenlandair has begun operating its first jet airliner, a Boeing 757-200, with assistance from Icelandair. The ex-Airtours aircraft is being flown on Icelandair's air operator's certificate (AOC). Icelandair assisted with crew training. The 757, which will be transferred to Greenlandair's AOC by 1999, is based in Copenhagen and operated to Narsarsuaq and Kangerlussuaq/Sondre Stromfjord in Greenland. At weekends it is leased to Swedish carrier Novair for charter work.
