Timco Aerosystems is introducing the latest member of its FeatherWeight interiors family of products at the show on stand 5E20.

The company's vice president of marketing and business development, Leonard Kaminski said that the primary goal of the new seat was to produce a lower weight economy seat for leisure and business use.

However he said that another major issue Timco was trying to address was the problem of the full recline, something he said many of its customers insisted on," without passengers feeling encroached upon by their neighbours". With literature pockets mounted towards the top of the seat behind the tray, it means that there is more room for enhanced knee and shin recess on the back shell.

Other new design features include a food tray with "belly room" curvature for larger customers and slim armrests that maximise passenger hip clearance.

Kaminski adds that he is expecting to do good business in Hamburg for another member of the featherweight family, the 3500 premium economy seat. "No question it's a market that's growing more, " he says.

"The business traveller is fighting a tighter budget, being told they can't fly business and this seat is a tool to retain the loyalty of those passengers. It many respects it's a business class seat."
