IRAQ HAS RESUMED procurement for surface-to-surface missile projects, in direct contravention of the United Nations (UN) arms embargo.

The latest UN Special Commission report alleges that several Iraqi front companies are again trying to purchase missile-related technologies.

The report was submitted to the UN Security Council at the beginning of October.

The Iraqi acquisition programme is mainly related to its Abadil-100 project for developing surface-to-surface missiles with ranges of between 100km (55nm) and 150km.
