Russian airframer Irkut has for the first time named five independent directors to its 11-man board in a key move to ease the legal passage for outside investment, possibly from EADS.
The independent members are the president of Volga-Dnepr Group, Alexey Isaikin; the general director of state military export agency Rosoboronexport, Sergey Chemezov; Baikal Bank chairman Maxim Poletaev; Inter-Department Analytical Centre director Alexey Ponomarev; and International Institute of Construction general director Vyacheslav Agapkin.
The six other members are senior executives at Irkut and its affiliates, now including Yakovlev general director Oleg Demchenko.
