THE ISRAELI air force has short-listed the contenders to replace its Dornier 28 liaison and reconnaissance aircraft.
The final contenders include the Pilatus Britten-Norman Defender, Raytheon Beech King Air C90B and the Cessna 208 Caravan. The C90B is on the shortlist, despite the fact that the air force would prefer a type with a high-wing type.
Selection is expected by July. According to the Jaffee Institute for Strategic Studies in Tel-Aviv the air force operates 15 Dornier 28s.
