Jet Aviation has added 20 aircraft to its managed fleet since the beginning of the year and predicts at least 40 more new aircraft to join its 150-plus fleet by the end of the year. The Swiss business-jet operations company added five aircraft in Europe and 15 in the USA, including a Bombardier Global Express, three Gulfstream IVs and several Dassault Falcons and Cessna Citations.
US business has been spurred on by first-time buyers entering the market in the aftermath of last September's terrorist attacks, says Bruce McNeely, general manager of Jet Aviation's US aircraft management division.
Jürg Reuthinger, McNeely's European counterpart, says he expects to end the year with 10-15 new aircraft managed in the European fleet.
The company has also begun offering Bombardier Global Express charters in the Pacific Rim after receiving a Hong Kong air operator's certificate.
