The outrage of 11 September is forcing a sea change on airport security. We have emerged from a grim century which has seen the demise of labour intensive industry, and the advent of call centres doing much to offer gainful employment to the thousands who would otherwise have had to endure the drudgery of mine, mill and sweat-shop.
Secure air travel is another area crying out for thousands of employees, at all skill levels, to buttress a vital workforce that will do so much to ensure our future safety in these difficult times. The threat to our security is an opportunity to offer gainful employment to people of all ages and wide abilities. The cost of this has to be viewed as delivering eternal vigilance - the price of freedom.
