India's cabinet committee on security has approved an increased cost estimate for the development of the Kaveri engine set for integration with the Advanced Development Agency-built Tejas light combat aircraft. Defence minister Pranab Mukherjee says the Gas Turbine Research Establishment-led Kaveri project will now cost Rp28 billion ($640 million).
