Tucked away among the vast range of products in the BAE Systems superhangar (OS15) is a new software package designed to make life easier for ground support staff who need access to complex technical information as they work on aircraft and other systems.
No longer will they be forced to wrestle with unwieldy paper manuals.
The Web-based TrilogiView 2.0, running on a personal digital assistant and serving up the information on a wearable head-up display, helps the user to structure technical information and navigate quickly and hands-free among graphics and procedures.
"This combination of fast, intuitive data accessibility and a completely mobile, hands-free platform will revolutionise on-site aircraft and defence equipment maintenance," says Ed Frankland, BAE Systems information services business development manager.
The package is being used operationally to support Eurofighter service entry.
