KLM has confirmed that it is scheduled to receive its first Airbus A350 in 2020.

The Dutch carrier says "current" plans foresee delivery of seven A350-900s by the end of 2022.

Air France-KLM has firm orders for 25 A350-900s. The group's agreement with Airbus in 2011 – when it also ordered Boeing 787s under a parallel deal – included purchase rights for up to 60 A350s.

Air France is set to receive its first A350 in 2019, a year later than envisioned in 2011.

The French flag carrier took delivery of its first 787 in December 2016.

KLM has been operating the type since 2015 and has eight 787-9s in service today. The Amsterdam-based airline says it will receive another six 787-9s by the end of 2019 and seven 787-10s in the 2019-21 timeframe.
