South Korea plans to build 50 200-seat wing-in-ground effect (WIG) craft by 2010. They will carry passengers to Japan and China. The ministry of marine affairs and fisheries says it is injecting 120 billion won ($117 million) into the project, starting this year. The funds will be used to build 50 WIG craft designed by the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute.
