L-3 grows in defence

L-3 Communications, the systems and instruments businesses spun off from Lockheed Martin, has signed a $230 million deal to acquire SPD Technologies, a supplier of electronics and electrical power products for the US Department of Defense and the US Federal Aviation Administration.
