CommScope, a division of General Instrument, has acquired Teledyne division Thermatics to boost its manufacturing capacity for Local Area Network (LAN) markets, primarily in the aerospace sector. Brian Garrett, executive vice-president and general manager of CommScope, says: "Thermatics' speciality cable expertise brings access to new process capabilities and markets for these cables which have rapid growth opportunities for CommScope."
