NetJets Europe has launched its first block charter card that is clearly aimed at the leisure market. NetJets says the ski pass is sold in blocks of 10h, designed to complement the company's fractional shareholders and charter customers, and lower the benchmark for entry into business aviation. NetJets ski pass will only be available during the ski season between November and March, when aircraft demand is otherwise low.
Robert Dranitzke, NetJets Europe business development manager, says that while the majority of existing NetJets customers use the aircraft fleet for business purposes, there is a growing demand for an affordable and separate lifestyle product.
"We are not shifting our focus. The majority of our flights are taken for business," Dranitze says. However, as customers realise the time savings and flexibility that business aircraft can offer, they want to extend those benefits to their leisure time, he says. In response, NetJets is exploring new opportunities, Dranitzke says, and has begun talks with a luxury holiday company and hotel groups "that could provide something beneficial for our customers".
