Gustavo Lenis has resigned as president of Colombia's Avianca, citing personal reasons and "having fulfilled his obligations to the company". During his eight years at the helm, Lenis upgraded the airline's internal operating systems and tried to build Bogota as a South American gateway, but Avianca has struggled as a result of Colombia's recession. Investment banker Bernado Quintero Balcazar is Avianca's new president.
