In-flight entertainment (IFE) specialist Lumexis has appointed new regional sales directors, as the company plans "major expansion and product growth".

Costa Mesa, California-based Lumexis has named Clyde Stroman and Malcolm Tibble to the positions of regional sales director, Asia and regional sales director, Europe, Middle East and Africa, respectively.

Stroman brings 35 years of commercial aviation sales experience in Asia to Lumexis, including extensive IFE representation across the region with Sony Trans Com and Rockwell Collins. His office is located in Thailand.

Tibble brings 25 years of commercial aviation sales experience, also having represented sophisticated IFE products and systems for Sony Trans Com and Rockwell Collins. His office is located in the UK.

"Clyde and Malcolm are the latest from the highly regarded Sony Trans Com veteran team to join the Lumexis cadre," says Lumexis director of global sales Don Sathern in a statement.

"They not only have a broad understanding of the role of in-seat IFEC (IFE and connectivity) for the commercial air carrier, they also bring the full confidence of long-term airline customers and our Lumexis Team from having worked together for decades in solving its challenges together."

Lumexis has developed a fiber optics-based IFE system, and secured a launch customer for the product.

The customer, a Boeing 737 operator, will be announced in May at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, says Lumexis.
