Construction of the Lambert M212-100 two-seat, diesel-engined prototype is running behind schedule at the ROPA plant in Geluveld, Belgium. Although the all-composite fuselage was completed earlier in the year, wing testing is not planned until later this month. Lambert says the sports aircraft is now due for roll-out by the third quarter of 1998.
Shortly after, the M212 will be disassembled, and transported to Cranfield in the UK, where it will begin fight testing.
The aircraft has folding wings for easy storage and is designed to be economical and easy to assemble. It is powered by a 110 kW (150 hp) Zoche ZO 01A air-cooled radial diesel engine.
