Boeing was given the top award for Maintenance and Modification for establishing the Boeing Aerospace Support Center as a world class large aircraft maintenance and modification centre.
The centre, at San Antonio, Texas, has been opened with the intention of providing affordable, high-quality, short cycle time maintenance and modification for large aircraft.
Located in part of the Kelly Air Force Base, the site has the largest free-standing aircraft hangar in the world featuring up to 15 wide-body aircraft portions.
Lord Corporation was named as a finalist for its NVX Active Noise and Vibration Control system.
The system provides a major improvement in passenger comfort through the reduction of noise and vibration on McDonnell Douglas DC-9s and MD-80s. Also named was Messier Services for developing a global customer support network for aircraft landing and brake systems.
