GE Aircraft Engines has formed an aviation materials redistribution company, GE Aviation Materials, through the acquisition of TPI Aviation, a parts redistribution business based in Dallas. It will focus on engine parts made by the big three manufacturers. Boeing has acquired AeroInfo Systems, a Canadian provider of airline maintenance software, for an undisclosed sum. The company becomes part of Boeing's growing aviation services portfolio. France's Snecma has completed its acquisition of Sopartec, and with it the takeover of Labinal's Turbomeca and Microturbo divisions. Northrop Grumman is to buy Federal Data, an information-systems supplier to the federal government, for $302 million. DeCrane Aircraft subsidiary Avtech has acquired Coltech, a Phoenix-based aviation calling and data systems specialist.
