Merpati separation
Merpati Nusantara Airlines plans to complete its separation from flag carrier Garuda Indonesia by the end of the year, according to the country's transportation minister, Haryanto Dhanutirto. The regional airline reportedly lost Rs93.12 billion ($40 million) in 1995 and is need of urgent restructuring.
