The main landing gear for the South African Rooivalk helicopter will be designed, developed and manufactured by Messier-Dowty with delivery due to start in December 1998.
The Rooivalk is a combat support military helicopter being developed by Denel Aviation which has already signed a contract to supply the aircraft to the South African Air Force.
Announcing the deal at Asian Aerospace '98, Dominique Paris, chief executive officer of Messier-Dowty, says: "South Africa has a great deal to offer the world aerospace market and we are pleased to be working with one of its leading aerospace companies."
