Russia’s air force began flight tests of the Mil Mi-28N attack helicopter last month, says the service’s commander-in-chief Vladimir Mikhailov. With the fourth and fifth production Mi-28Ns now in build, he says: “I am sure we will give the go-ahead for the helicopters, and they will enter our inventory next year.”

Meanwhile, Kamov will resume flight tests of its rival Ka-52 this month with the Arbalet mast-mounted fire-control radar. Moscow withdrew funding for the Ka-52 programme earlier this year.
