Yak-130
YAKOVLEV continues to compete with MIG MAPO for the Russian air force's trainer requirement with the twin-turbofan Yak-130. The Russian company has also teamed with Italian manufacturer Aermacchi to offer a variant of the aircraft for export, designated as the AEM-130.
The company has modified the winglet design of the Yak-130 light-attack/advanced jet trainer as a result of flight tests which revealed that the winglets were deforming during flight. Yakovlev test-flew the aircraft with the winglets removed before once again fitting them to the aircraft.
