Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (GAMECO) received authorisation from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to provide maintenance works at the recently opened Beijing Daxing International airport.

The approval allows the MRO arm of China Southern Airlines to conduct services for European carriers flying into the airport. It conducted its first work on 9 December for Finnair, providing technical support and releasing the aircraft to service, says GAMECO.

The company joins its Chinese MRO counterpart Ameco in providing services at Beijing’s second airport.

Last month, Ameco was authorised by EASA and the Civil Aviation Administration of China to provide line maintenance at Daxing on Air China’s fleet and eight aircraft types for third-party operators.

Cirium schedules data shows that domestic carriers operating at Beijing Daxing International airport include Air China, Capital Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China United Airlines, Juneyao Airlines, and Hebei Airlines. International operators that fly into Daxing include British Airways, Finnair and Royal Brunei Airlines.
