Lufthansa Technik has doubled the size of its US component maintenance facility in Tulsa in a bid to increase its activity across the Americas region.
The German maintenance firm says it formally opened a new 10,700m² (115,000ft²) component shop on 13 November and that the site was expanded to accommodate additional capabilities.
"We have added a large number of services," states Dirk Ripa, who jointly leads, with Stephen Fondell, the facility as co-managing director and head of LHT's Americas component services division.
Fondell foresees annual business growth of "more than 20%" for the facility.
Capabilities at the expanded site concentrate, in particular, on Boeing 737 operators, and LHT notes that the number of employees in Tulsa is "expected to rise".
Today, the MRO provider employs nearly 600 staff members for its component maintenance business across eight North American locations.
A sales and support office with 150 employees was opened in Miami in October.
Branch offices in Colombian capital Bogota and Mexico City will be established by year-end, LHT says.
